F. Michael Conway earned a BS in Geology from Indiana University in 1985. He completed his MS at Northern Arizona University in 1989, and his PhD from Michigan Technological University in 1993. He was employed as a volcanologist at the Southwest Research Institute’s Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses from 1993 to 1997 and went on to become a Professor of Geosciences at Arizona Western College from 1997 to 2007. For the past 15 years, he has been a Senior Research Scientist at the Arizona Geological Survey in Tucson, Arizona. He retired from the Survey on Dec. 30, 2022.
